How Local Businesses Partnerships Are Evolving in 2027

Businesses have always played an important part in supporting charities, but the way they get involved is changing.

As we move into 2027, charity partnerships are becoming much more than simply making a donation. More businesses are looking for ways to build genuine relationships with the charities they support, get their teams involved and make a visible difference in their local community.

For PACSO, that is really exciting.

We are incredibly lucky to have the support of local people, businesses and organisations who help us provide activities, clubs, trips and respite for children and young people with disabilities, as well as support for their families.

And there are now more ways than ever for businesses to get involved.

It’s Becoming More About Partnership Than a One-Off Donation

Every donation matters to a small charity like PACSO.

But we are also seeing more businesses wanting to build an ongoing relationship with the charities they support.

Rather than making one donation and moving on, a business might choose to support a charity throughout the year through fundraising, volunteering, event sponsorship or by sharing their skills.

These longer-term charity partnerships can make a huge difference.

They give businesses the chance to really get to know the charity they are supporting, while helping organisations like PACSO plan ahead and continue providing the services families rely on.

Sometimes a partnership can start with something really simple too.

It could be a sponsored walk, an office fundraiser or a team volunteering day. From there, it can grow naturally.

More Teams Want to Get Involved

Employees increasingly want the chance to get involved too.

That could mean taking part in a fundraising challenge, helping at an event or using their professional skills to support a charity.

For many businesses, this gives teams something positive to work towards together, it can mean extra hands, new ideas and more people helping us spread the word about what we do.

And most importantly, it all contributes towards helping us support more local families.

Businesses Want to See the Difference They Are Making

One of the biggest changes in charity partnerships is that businesses increasingly want to understand the impact of their support.

And we completely understand why.

When you support a charity, it is lovely to know where that support is going and what difference it is making.

At PACSO, support from our community helps us provide activities and respite for babies, children and young people with disabilities aged 0–25.

That can include clubs, trips, toddler groups, weekend activities and opportunities for young people to have fun, build confidence and spend time with friends.

It also gives parents and carers some much-needed respite.

Being able to show businesses the real impact of their support helps make a partnership feel much more personal.

Local Support Matters

You do not need to work with a huge national charity to make a difference.

Supporting a local charity can mean helping families who live in the same towns and communities as your staff and customers.

PACSO works with families across Chichester, Arun and surrounding areas of West Sussex.

That means a local business supporting PACSO can often see the difference much closer to home.

There is something really special about knowing your fundraising, volunteering or sponsorship is helping people within your own community.

Fundraising Can Be Fun Too

Business fundraising does not always have to mean a formal black-tie dinner or a huge sponsored event.

Sometimes the simplest ideas work best.

A team could hold a bake sale, organise a quiz, run a raffle, take on a fitness challenge or arrange a dress-down day.

Businesses can also link fundraising to their products or services.

For example, they might donate a small amount from each sale during a particular month or run a special campaign in support of PACSO.

There are lots of ways to get creative.

And every pound raised can help us continue supporting children, young people and families.

Looking Ahead to Charity Partnerships in 2027

As we move into 2027, we expect charity partnerships to become even more collaborative.

Businesses will continue to donate and fundraise, but there is also a growing opportunity for teams to contribute through volunteering, expertise, connections and awareness.

For PACSO, these partnerships can make an enormous difference.

They can help us raise vital funds, introduce us to new supporters and give us access to skills and resources that we might not otherwise have.

Most importantly, they help us continue doing what PACSO is all about creating opportunities for children and young people with disabilities to have fun, make friends and enjoy new experiences, while giving their families valuable support and respite.
